Default HVAC Display Is Dim

My 2001 HVAC display has been dim for almost a year. I used to tap the glass on it and it would brighten up but then go away again. Today I tore it apart using the instructions that was posted before. My wife who used to own a circuit board assembly business soldered all of the problem components plus some other resistors that had cold joints and now it as bright as a new one!
The forum is a great place for help!
Here is the link that has the fix. Great stuff guys!

I hate to tell you this, but . . .

Probably should have just gone and replaced the bulbs while you had it out. I didnt when I had mine open to fix the dim thing, and low and behold six months later the bulbs behind some of the controls started going out one by one (the digital display is still bright though ).
