Looks like I'm going to shoot for 430-450 RWHP/400 plus RWTQ.
I don't want to spend too much money to reach my goal, but will not short cut cheap style either.
I have a cam only Z and it put down 395/380 to the wheels which is kinda low, and I don't have the specs on the cam so I couldn't tell you what it is. Bought it that way..
Question 1:
If I keep the cam and throw some HEADS/FAST 102 on, should I reach that goal?
Should I replace the CAM as well with a bigger one?
Question 2:
I recently ran a 12.3@117 with a 2.0 60ft and know that guys running that kind of MPH through the 1320 are putting down around 420 RWHP. Do you think the dyno is just reading low and I'm closer to my goal than I think?
Car was dyno tuned at LG. Mods are in my profile..
I would make an effort to track down the owner who had the cam installed. Before anything else, it'd be good to know what's in there.
Yeah, I thought of that and then realized it would take a while. I believe the owner before me bought it from corvette warehouse (or some dealer). I'll see if I can find the information of the owner who sold it to them..
bolton c5z guys are running 120+ ....the biggest improvement you will see is from tires and seat time
make an effort on finding the cam specs
dont waste your money on heads intake all that stuff a bigger cam will also reduce driveability. Do a A&A blower kit....quite a lot of shops installing them for around 6500 out the door and will put you around 600rwhp being you have a cam already...at least thats the route I would take if I had to do it again...cost is the same if you dont go with a budget HC setup...I run TFS heads, FAST intake, all the boltons and it was very expensive...just cant match the power/driveability of a FI setup
1--11.529 @ 120.21--1.641--Ranger------'02 11/04-HT CAI, 17" BFG Slip Video
thats just intake and tires, but ranger is and amazing driver!

ive acually talked to him on here before, very nice guy! many plp hit that MPH with just longtubes intake and tune with et streets..with a 228/232 or bigger i would hope to get that EASY lol

THANKS!!!!!
The FAST 102 seems like overkill. A 346 won't need that much air, which could actually hurt intake velocity and hurt your power in the low and midrange.
I had a small cam with a pro ported LS6 intake manifold and TB and switched to a ported FAST 90 setup. I only gained about 6hp in a very narrow 300rpm range at the peak but lost an average of 5 hp and torque throughout the entire rpm range below peak; I'm guessing due to lower intake velocity.
I would have put the LS6 setup back on, but I had already sold it to offset costs
I'm guessing the 102 would have been even worse in the low RPM with no additional benefit over the 90 at the top.
But that's just my experience, other guys seem to rave about thier FAST setups, so I'll get down off my soapbox now
Edit: Maybe you mean the FAST 92? The 102 is for the LS3 or L92 heads, which would also be overkill for a 346.
who is the best to port the TB and Ls6 intake mani?
I had Lingenfelter port the TB. But you'll want someone to match the Intake manifold to the heads if you go that way, so maybe the company doing your heads will also match your intake.
I had LS2 portworks "Cory Harris" do my manifold to my heads, but he closed up shop last year.

Thanks for the advice bud. I'll drop the psi and work on my driving and see what happens. I was thinking about going F/I and actually might end up going that route. I know it's better bang for the buck.
I'm going to the track again next Friday so we'll see what happens!!

prob expensive, prob just stick with the ported TB,cam, longtubes and supporting mods and see how that goes, learn to drive it with that power first lol

I trap 117-118 [11.741] with an intake, ported tb, tune, dr's and put down 374 rwhp 366 rwtq
