Advice / Help Needed

I have 2 problems the Oil Pressure gauge stays at 80 while the car is running but goes back to 0 when the car is off - any idea what is causing this ?
Also my drivers side rug is soaked from the recent rains - I toweled it down the best I could but it is stil very wet including under the drivers seat - any suggestions how I can get this dried ?
Thanks

On the oil pressure; when the engine is running and the guage is showing 80psi check the DIC and if it is reading 130 then best bet is you have a bad oil pressure sensor that will have to be replaced. It is located behind the intake and you have to remove the intake to get to it. Many folks relocate it (I did) so it can be serviced easier. Do a search and you will find several options for relocating the oil pressure sending unit.
On the soaked carpet, the first and easiest thing to check is the udders in the engine compartment under the cowell. There are two on the drivers side, again, under the cowell that you can reach very easy. They are literally long udders with a slit in the bottom. If you don't clean them often they get clogged with a bunch of gunk. Get in there grab them and squeeze them to get all the gunk out of them. You can put your finger up in them and get the stuff out also.
There is another long one on the passenger side behind the battery. It is about 2' long and I took mine out and it was loaded with gunk.
Those could be your water problem if it is from the rain. The other thing to check while the battery is out is the AC condensation drain. It is a 90 degree rubber drain; just check to make sure it is open.
There are other possibilities for water leaks including the windows but I would check the udders first.

Get the replacement that has a BRASS body and NOT the aluminum body.
As stated, udders may be plugged. Check them. I would concentrate on the passenger side FIRST. If it is wet over there the BCM may have gotton wet. That is the large silver box behind the toe kick in the passenger footwell. If it is wet you need to get it out of the car and dried out before you have lots more serious problems than wet feet.
Here is some more reading about leaks:

If it is not the udders this thread talks about the other major causes.
Take the carpet out of the car to dry the carpet but check the BCM FIRST>>>>>

I checked the DIC and the oil pressure is 130 - drove the car tonite for a couple hrs and it ran fine - so I assume I'll need to replace the sensor. i called my mechanic and he said it would run about $150 installed - after reading the threads here on the forum - I doubt he can do it for that price.
Which brand of sensor makes the brass model ?
I was able to get the carpet dry - used my shop vac to get as much of the water, took the roof off and then parked the car in the sun. i checked the udders and they were clean - I'm sure the water came in around the driver door cause the cover got blown off due to the storms we just went thru. The passenger side was always dry.
Thanks for all the help
