Thanks for all your help, and especially the links and recall notice.

I was mainly wondering if the C5 could be made to compeat with the Z06 for a reasonable amount of money, but it seems the Z just has a few too many differences to make the conversion worthwhile. If I modded a C5, I might feel it was a Z wannabe, and feel the Z was just that little bit better. The hardtop style is growing on me a bit, so I'll save my pennys (!) and shoot for a Z.

Cheers for all the advise

Paul

Yeah, I too didn't like the Z's roof-line nearly as much as the coupes, but now it's the complete opposite. I don't like the hatch look anymore. The z06 looks is just so hard to replicate and it looks so much more mean.

Yep. Exactly. You'll always have that "but it's still not a Z" tugging at the back of your mind

Also, someone else earlier said some bolt-ons would equal the performance of the Z? Definitely not true.

Do you know how many bolt-ons you would need to get an LS1 to run 116+mph traps, which an '02 and later Z does bone stock right out of the box?

Here, read this, it will reinforce the decision it sounds like you've already made : http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ure/index.html
