Default "Clearshield' Paint Protection

Has anyone had "Clearshield" paint protection installed. It's the only product available in Toledo Ohio area. I know it's a 3M clear bra clone.

Sorry, all I have installed on mine is the 3M stuff. How does the price of the Clearshield compare to 3M and what is the warranty?

Default Clearshield

It cost $540 installed. It has a five year warranty. Is that a normal price?

ClearShield is made by Bekaert. Its a terrible film and you will not be happy with it. One of my installers used to install it, for about 4 years, and was very unhappy with the quality of the film and its durability. You would be better off going and ordering a VentureShield or 3M kit and then having the installer put it on. Bekaert only holds about 5% (maybe) of the market for a reason.

Thanks for the info. I will not get "Clearshield" installed. This is exactly the response I was hoping to get. This forum is great !!! I'll keep looking for a 3M installer.

Some guys cringe at $700-800 or more to install a clear bra, but what your really paying for is the expertise of the installer, and of course how much of the car is being done.

I did my own... It takes a few hours, is not hard and you'll need an extra set of hands
in part of the install...

I'd wash the car a couple of time, and then maybe clay the part getting the shield..
But not all that hard..... They give you all the tools, or at least the kit I used....

It is my understanding that it takes around four months for the paint to cure. This is what my painter told me If I'm wrong someone will chime in.

I've had Ventureshield on my '07 which after a couple of years, it was due. The installer put on what he called VentureShield which is what I requested and paid for, only to find out that he used some other product called "ClearBra". The stuff faded within 6 months and looks foggy now. The installer went out of business which left me stuck with a worthless product. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Ventureshield and it was good stuff, but certainly not this "ClearBra" material which is a totally different product.

No, just the lower portion of the hood, bumper, mirrors, behind each wheel, and rockers. I've read threads where guys have paid $1500 for this. The ZR1 guy must have paid an arm, leg, and another arm for the complete wrap which to me is 'overboard', but it's his car.

It's all in the talent of the installer or lack of, and you can see that in the first link of the Porsche Suv. Find a good shop, and ask to see their completed cars, and satisfied customer's references.
