Ive been dn both roads and there are pro's and con's to both. It really comes dn to how you drive your car. If you are into road course fun on occasion then it's common knowledge that FI is not the best choice. I've spent a lot of money and ECS many man hrs cooling dn my beast but I knew that going into the project and I have no regrets. We will know this summer if the issue is resolved. FI runs hot so beyond doing a charger expect to tackle cooling issue next. I'm a boost junkie....love the kick in the pants so it was an easy choice for me. Once I went for a ride in a boosted car I was done so back to square 1 because I was setup for H/C. I'm heavily biased when it comes to FI....can't get enough. The right H/C package will net you close to as much gain as FI on a stock bottom end. FI is truly driving like stock until you put your foot in it. Try to go for a ride if you have not already and decide from there. Good luck and enjoy

I would go with a blower, unless you want to road race the car. You really cannot beat the power gain with a boosted car, it will drive like stock until you hit the throttle.

I have a heads/cam package and if I could do it all over again I would go FI in a heartbeat. To get the same power from a heads/cam package you would get with a blower, you'd have to run a monster cam, and very$$$ heads..then, I don;t care what anyone says, the drivability of the car will change, no matter how good a tune you have done.

I love the lope of a cam ( mine is medium size 228/232 113LSA), but it does greatly effect the manners of the car...and I have an excellent tune in my car now.

GO FI and don't look back , you will not regret it.

i have a heads/cam setup and i love it. The biggest problem is it's more work to setup but it's kinda fun having that cam lope It rev's great and sounds better than any LT's and exhaust car ever could at WOT or cruise. I however get sick of the street manners and i have a pretty good tune. They aren't horrible but they chug and stuff in traffic. After all this i kinda wish i had gone with a blower and LT's only and been done with it as it woulda been about the same price(if i shopped for parts) and more reliable overall. Get ahold of local Vette guys that have both types and see how you like them.

Hmmm, I read these posts and I was in your position back in Nov.. I was looking at ECS doing a blower. I instead opt for the cam (heads will come this summer). To me it was a money factor. I had the money, but I went with the suspension upgrade, the cam and a RPS carbon/carbon clutch. I took the difference and placed it into my interior (all done by Apsis!).
I can tell you there is a difference in street manners with cam work. takes getting use to. BUT, watching faces as you go down the block, giving it just a tap on the gas and hearing the pipes open, well you need to experience this yourself
If I had to do it all over again, I do the same thing. So I'm not putting down 500, 600, 700+ hp. I don't track the car so I'll never need that much hp. That's another thing to consider. but at just under 400rwtq, I can get whiplash anytime I want

I think your age will have a bearing on the question. If you
are 30 or less go with the h/c combo. You still need to be
seen and can stand all of the negative traits that come with a
hot cam and heads. If you are becoming a old fart--well you have
probably done all of this many times before. You don't need
attention other than the whistle of FI and the stock feel will be
easier on your old bones. A supercharger has alot of power
and that's what it is all about in the end for us old timers.
Have a good ride and consider A&A, they do alot of research
and it shows in their kits.( if you should go FI).

Yeah, my "old" bones loves the FI I got installed from ECS and the new passing power that I've gained. Normal driving and it's your normal C5. Step on the gas and hold the hell on.

I'm making 512rwhp and 453rwtq through a D1SC @ 8.8psi and methanol. Only other power mod is LG Headers and C5z Ti exhaust. Oh yeah and the motor has 125k miles on it now and has never been touched! The D1 is capable of more than 800rwhp, though our stock bottom ends are not. With the LS6 you'll be making at least 50 more rwhp than I do.

They do whistle though. So if you don't like hearing the blower, you won't like the D1. I love it however.
