Having to reset mine due to the heat generated by the unit and the sun on the unit makes me think all the heat does more harm. I've had radar units shut down due to high operating temps so one would think the cooler you can keep the electronics, the longer the life.

I never thought about THAT. Could be very well true!
Still wondering if anyone has tried the KUDA mount......
