Default Installed new depo headlights

Well finally got the new headlights in and they pretty good except passenger side has a pretty big gap on the top, but cant seem to close it without raising the lights and blinding oncoming traffic. The lighting is much better though and installation was pretty simple just time consuming. Anyone have any tips for closing the gap but also keeping the lights low, I tried boring for the holes for more adjustment and it helped except that one spot.

Mine will be here tomorrow, (Monday), black ones. Pulled out the old pop-up's this afternoon. Went in from the bottom. Researched install instruction's ahead of time, so no need to pull front end off like I seen some members mention. Took less than an hour to pull the old ones out, cleaned up the openings an such. Waiting for UPS tomorrow. I'll let ya know how it goes as far as adjusting the gaps around the headlight assembly, and if I run into any issue's. Hopefully be home early enough to get them installed by tomorrow night.

Just got home. UPS brought mine, look nice. Have to do paperwork, be too late to try and install tonight. On that left headlight and the gap....looks like you could shift the light up, then over to the right. I don't see a gap at the botom edge or the left edge. Ya know what I mean. I read that getting the gap right around all four edges is the hardest part of the install.

So i have found out that lining up the gaps are the hardest part, I may just bend the brackets a little bit. The problem with the front is that theres a gap there but the light is tilted down because they were flush with bumper BUT when behind someone I could see EVERYTHING they were doing and werent too happy about it so its just a temporary fix. And on top of this all the HID's I bought the one was flickering so I had to send that back and now I have to wait for my new one I hope you have an easier time than me because its turning out to be a PITA but the end result will definetly be worth it

Did you ever get these aligned right with regards to the gaps? I installed the passenger side this afternoon, and had huge gap at top and and right side of light. I know I read here and elsewhere that folks have ovaled out the mounting holes that the OEM bolts/screws/nut attach to the car. My issue is that the height of the light assembly is right were I want it in the opening. I just need to shift the light up and over to the right. All I need to do is be able to slide the assembly over the 12 mounting screws. So I'm going to oval, (enlarge), out the 12 holes on the brackets, trim the little plastic nipple off, and I'm thinking the light housing will slide to the right and up. Tighten the 12 screws, and I'm good. I think!

edit- I can see where bending the brackets that you mentioned may help, but the height of the light housing is even all the way around, I just need to be able to slide the assembly over the brackets, and up, and tighten down. I knew I should have saved this project till Saturday morning. I'm done for the day!

I really havent messed with them, it was raining and I had to fix my daily driver, but tomorrow im going to mess with them. I like your idea about ovaling the 12 screw holes and for you that may just work. Now where you have the lights at now when you turn the headlights on are they pointing at stock height. My problem is that I cant get the lights lined up perfectly and have stock light pattern, mine point right in peoples back window. Im going to try your idea tomorrow and see what I can make happen and if I have a macgyver idea ill be sure to let everyone know

and o the fun of modifying things...nothing ever goes as planned

Did you use the screw on the bottom of each light to adjust them down?

I ran mine all the way down and do not have any issues blinding people.

Well I got around to messing with the lights a little bit and I got the passenger side with the big gap just about even all the way around, with no more boring/cutting of holes. I didnt get to test them out as I went to casino instead...gotta make some money to put more mods on the vette

and yes I did run the screws all the way down but have yet to see light pattern with the lights flush

FINALLY got the lights perfect. I had to bore all the mounting brackets (like a cross), run the big screw underneath all the way down, a second helping hand, and hope for the best. Will try to get some pics tomorrow if it doesnt rain.

Did you open up the holes that the bolts/nuts attach to the frame? Or the hole's that the screws go into underneath and into the light housing? I'll be doing mine Saturday morning....again. Thanks for the updates!
