Default Anyone know this zo6

Called this dealer today to inquire about this car. They said it has cam, exhaust, c6z brakes and some other upgrades but can't locate any of the paperwork on the mods. Say it does 436whp but again no dyno sheet. Thought it looked interesting and was hoping someone may be familiar with it or its previous owner. They claim they're in the process of getting ahold of the previous owner to get the information.
I'm looking for an '02 for around this price but the lack of supporting receipts makes me a little nervous.
Any comments are appreciated in my search.
Thanks

you could always tell them you wanna have it checked out by an independent shop and get it dynoed... Seems like a pretty decent starting price, and all of those mods are pretty noticeable, its not like they say it has a forged bottom end, or built transmission or something.

Yeah, that was my thought. I just am not always 100% confident in someones word. I know most things are noticable and I'd have an inpsection done but they are less than helpful. Have a basic "it is what it is, you want it or not?" attitude. They dont even seem willing to move on price .01. The bolt on stuff is ok but salesmen said to me it has a cam and has "heads either ported or new" so it made me a little concerned.
I've been looking at prices and they seem to be all over the place. Thinking about offering $20K with an inspection. Will see what happens I guess.

check it out good, the car was probably driven hard given the mods it has. Check for accidents as well since the rear quarters were changed out, I know this is a typical mod but, may have been changed due to a wreck. Just look carefully and don't be over anxious.

the car was owned by someone on this forum, I remember seeing it a few times. You should post this in the C6 section because 1/2 the guys that were here a year ago are their now. The car probably has about 6k worth of mods on it. I would drive it ,see if I like the way it runs, then try to get it for that price or less out the door because of it being nonstock. Goodluck.

As far as the back end being painted he had a post on it when it was done.So you might try a search on that. I don't remember it being hit.

This is often an incorrect assumption. My car's modded way more than that, and I don't even know when I'll stop. Never been raced, or anything worse than running it through the gears rarely. There's so much power, and so many cops, that I drive it pretty conservatively. Maybe that's just me, but my car is my toy/hobby, and it's also a large investment, so I treat it with respect.

My 63 is modded so is my Z so you know as well as I that once you go down the mod path you best be keeping your toy a long time. Many will not buy a modded car and the stealer on trade will rape you because of mods. If the guy who buys that car planed on modding its a honking deal. Bye I've had my 63swc since 79 so yes its a long term relationship.

landed in columbus at 11:15 by 12:15 I was sitting at a hertz rental counter waiting for a rental car to get back to airport. Talk about misrepresentation.
Car is a mess. Body repairs done by a blind man, cracked windshield, idle is a mess, wont stay running at idle. Surges, chips in almost all areas of the car. Interior a mess, Trans is all f'ed up.
All fluids black as coffee.
I figured I'd take a chance based on photos and what 2 different salesmen described but how do you leave out "window broken"?
My mechanic actually felt bad for me after lookng it over for 10 minutes cause we came all the way out. Why cant people just be honest? IF they said it wasnt in great shape I would have tried to negotiate a price based on that and if we didnt agree so be it. Instead they BS me how perfect it is and flawless. My fault for believing it but thankfully took a trip out from CT to see for myself as they suggested shipping it sight unseen.
Anyone know how to get in touch with Kessler advertising a black 02 1 hour north of columbus as thats where I'm sitting right now???
This car is quick for sure and about the loudest c56 i've seen but not nearly worth the $20k they're asking.

I feel bad for you, especially if you drove/flew all the way from CT. Good thing you did though. At first I was wondering why somebody would take a wash on such a nice looking, heavily modded C5 by trading it in, but I guess we now know why. The previous owner probably knew it was messed up and just traded it knowing most dealerships won't look the car over very closely before making the deal. Too bad, could have been a great deal if it was in good shape.

Couple of things... looks like it's got the L5 fender flares. Also, is the paint on the front/hood as fubar as it looks? I guess all that doesn't matter much, 'cause the car looks like a major project. If you don't mind that aspect, lowball 'em.

That car has taken a beating along is route. The paintwork on passenger side and front is bad, the front lenses are both cracked and repaired with some kind of yellowing glue. The front and side panels dont match enen close. I figured since I was out there and already had money in my hand that after both me and a vette mechanic I brought with me pointed this stuff out they might want to negotiate a deal to get rid of it but they weren't hearing it. They said they'd set me up with a rental car company and had me dropped off there. The company said "yeah they called but didnt ask if we had any cars. We're fresh out sorry". took cab back to airport in time to miss last flight back so rented a very nice avis car and drove home. It was just a bummer cause if they had even mentioned 1/4 of the cars issues that were glarring at minimum I may not have considered going. I mean honestly when you ask a salesman to do a walkaround to describe the car for you how do they leave out "broken windshield"?
Of course the minute I get home. I find a newly listed 02 locally 1 owner 23k miles with minimal mods that supposedly in showroom condtion. I'm off to see it tomorrow cause I've been up 48hr now and need sleep. I feel bad now cause I'm gonna offer the seller at least a thousand more than I would have on thursday cause thats what the trip cost me
Hopefully this one is as described.
