If it is done correctly, then not much at all if any. These are not collector cars, so it will not cause the price to change. Now if you go with a custom color, it should not change it much, but it may limit those that are interested. I mean, if you were out looking to by a C5 and you found one in you price range and the milage you want would you turn it down because it is black, but the paint code says it was originally gray. Again if it is done right. To do a color change you are talking big bucks. The car needs to be disassembled to do it correctly. If all you do is the body then yes you probably will loss money at resale.
Not sure about resale pricing but I have seen other forum members talk about how pricey it is to do a color change. Unless you plan on just painting the body? Then that would drop the price of your car if you go to sell later.
If you are changing colors, expect to pay several thousand dollars for a quality job. Your concern probably should be the cost of the job vs. the current value of the car. Probably should not be that concerned on how the paint job affects its value, as it probably won't make much difference.
Having worked in several dealerships, a re-paint -- even in the same factory color -- is depreciated during the appraisal process. Nothing screams "hidden repairs" louder than a re-paint. Ditto custom colors -- you have to clone the seller at sale time to find an identical buyer with exactly the same taste. Your question implies selling the Vette downstream. If true, use caution when spending $5-10K on a quality paint job -- that's money you will never get back at sale time.
Do you plan to keep the car for the long term?? TO do it right,,the interior has to be stripped out and a LOT of detail nooks and crannies to get for a quality job!! ALL of that COST MONEY!! You might be better off selling ,,and get the color you want!!

Yeah I was planning to keep the car for a long time but still is a lot of money, I might sell it, I feel like its going to take me a long time to find that black one
You wanted a black Corvette bad enough that you bought a silver one and wanted to paint it black, but now you want to sell it because it will be too expensive to paint it black? This is perhaps the oddest post I have ever seen.
Why would you buy a vette in a color you didn't like? When I was shopping I would only consider 3 colors. Red, White, and Blue. I passed on every black car like the plague. If it was red or white and had anything but black interior I passed on it. Then I found another perfect car, an EB vert with black interior to match my Z06. Silver is just way too plain for me and I would never buy a corvette in silver, I just can't understand why you would buy a color you don't like and lose money on the car immediately after buying it to swap for black. Honestly it tells me your priorities may need some evaluation. If color was a deal breaker then you should have waited.
Only problem is that GM doesn't make a Vette in the color I want. I want a dark metallic red or burnt orange.
Well look on the bright side, restomod C5s with custom paint will be economically viable in about 30 years or so...You could probably justify the cost of color change by then

I also agree that unless you are really attached to your current car, it might be a better idea to sell what you have and find a car in the color you want.
If you’re really worried about resale value of your car, but still want to change the color of the car, then why not look into getting the car vinyl wrapped. Vinyl wrapping a car is a lot less than painting car (generally speaking), will help protect the finish of the car’s paint, can be washed and waxed like normal paint, and when your ready to sell the car just pull the vinyl off and wash and wax.
there is always the option of trying to find someone to trade with. i suggest you give that a shot here on the forum under the cars for sale section. it's worth a try.
