I lowered the back of my car 1 inch on stock bolts. I have 3 threads showing on one side and about 2 3/4 showing on the other. The front is still stock height.
I notice when I drive the back end is a bit rough over bumps. It felt better than stock before I lowered it. But of course didn't look that great having the back end that high. Feels like it's hitting the stops.
How can I make it ride a bit better?
Did I lower it to far on stock bolts?
Should I get shorter stops, if so what kind and where to buy?
Buy new shocks if so what kind?
Lift it back up about a 1/4 inch?
Can you be more specific? Do I need to go with a shorter shock? If you changed yours out what type of configuration worked best for you? What type of cost should I expect?
I lowered my car on longer rear bolts and absolutely hated the ride. The bottom would bottom out all the time. I bit the bullet at bought some used Pfadt coilovers. Man, what a huge improvement in ride quality(16-way adjust-ability) and better handling. With coilovers you can lower your car and still retain full-shock travel. My car now only has a 1-1.5 finger gap between the tires and the body
On the cheap, go with the C6 Z51 swaybars and C6 Z06 shocks. If you are a baller, go coilovers. I am not so I had to go with the C6 parts. There are ads in the for sale section for them.
many members recommend the Bilstein Sport Shocks as well.
