The BSM (body side molding) was option B84 on the C5s that listed for $75. One chose the option. My 02 does not have the BSM and the Z06 does. Hope this answers your question.

Many of us remove them, cleans up the lines of the car IMHO.

They protect the door from dings. I would leave them on.

I think the car looks way better with the, on.
No BSMs make it look horrible, especially if you have a non-FRC

It's all a matter of opinion, but I think the BSM adds to the lines of the car. On the Z, it looks like its missing something without it.

At this point of owning my Z, I am liking the lines of the BSM on it. I didnt realize until lately it was an RPO. It is purely a matter of opinion and ones idea of what looks good or not.

I'm on the fence about my BSMs... I think the C5Z looks a little cleaner without the BSMs "busying up" the lines.

agreed, the frc body style looks waaayyy better w/o the side moldings. it just doesn't flow with the car at all.

I took them off and it looks 100x better, i believe it was a $200 option, that what my window sticker says for 2002.

did you remove them by heating up the glue with a blow dryer and then peeled them off?

I don't have them on my car but I like them and I'm thinking of adding them to me the cars to plain. I like the lines they seem to add to the car.

I was thinking about removing them from my Z, I think they look "out of place" espically with the yellow, just my opinion.

I have them on my Z and personally it adds to the look particularly in black. I also understand that it adds to the aerodynamics of the car. All in all its a matter of personal taste. ( And it helps prevent the dreaded door ding, a big plus!!)
