How do you wash your C5??

Just saying . . .
I still use Zaino Z5 polish and detailers.
I start with a Dawn wash to clean off the old wax/contaminants. I then claybar the car, followed by a polish and then a wax with Meguiars #26. I then just wash with Meguiars Gold Class once or twice a month until the middle of fall when I redo the process.
I also use a detail spray to maintain the car inbetween washes.
Then I have that hand held rubber thing that wipes it off. Tire wet the tires and clean the wheels with the small white kitchen type towel.

There is always going to be a difference between how a garage queen is treated and how a daily driver is treated, some people like to look at their car and some people like to actually drive them, while some hover in the middle...
You can't realistically maintain anywhere near the level of detail on a real used DD as you can on a sunny day weekend warrior garage queen, it would be a stupid waste of time...
As a DD, during the cold winter months, I drop a few bucks in the high pressure hand car washes and give it a quick once over every few days...
For the summer, I have an cheap pressure sprayer with a G-Clean upstream soap injector, total price under $100 and it gets a quick once over every week or so in the driveway to keep the grime at bay... A detail and wax here and there as time permits...

I just use Meguiars purple car wash soap and a soft brush on a handle....the kind with the frayed ends....very gentle...rinse well and dry with a chamois. I'm behind on the wax but the last one with Turtle Wax's blend of carnauba and synthetic is still holding up well.
The finish on the C5 is remarkably durable....thanks GM!!
Using a good pva or large microfiber drying towel, start at the top, wheels & tires last. Make sure all tags have been removed from your towels, they scratch! I use my used/washed microfiber towels on the wheels & tires. Open all doors, fuel door, hood & trunk, dry the jambs and the edges of the windows. I like to wipe off under the hood too, with the same towels I use for the wheels & tires.
Then I take it for a quick drive down the street, pull it into the garage & dry it off again, to get all the water spots. Rinse & dry out the buckets after cleaning the sponge(s), then set the dirty towels aside for washing. Clean the windows, inside & out, and you are done. This is a great time to check/adjust your tire pressures & fluid levels, then drive & enjoy!
I'm enthusiastic about my Vette, I drive it every day rain, snow, sleet, or even those sunny days...
