Got a question....had the battery go out in my keyless entry on a 1997 vette........i replaced the battery and nothing happend...is there something i am missing?? (and yes it is the right battery)
Stand next to the car, push lock and unlock on the key fob at the same time and hold them both down. The horn will chirp when the fob resynchronizes the security code. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

You probably need to resync the transmitter to the car. Procedure is in the owner's manual.
Or do this:
Put the key in the ignition and turn to on position (do not start the car). On the dash hit the options button until it cycles to a blank screen. Hold down the reset button on the dash four seconds and you will see"FOB Training" on the DIC. Press the reset button again and it will ask you to hold the LOCK and UNLOCK together. The car will beep after a few seconds.
you guys are awesome...i still have the vette in storage so the manual is in the car...i figured i better just try it today as i started it up and make sure things are ready for her to come out of storage this week
Again this forum saves the day. I had to put a new battery in my 2000 vert when I took it out of storage. Key fob no longer worked. Did the "hold the unlock/lock button down" process and I have a working key fob again.
