Default Installed Headers, Quick Question!

Just got my OBX headers / o/r x pipe on. I have the stock Ti catback, and it sounds great, but it's not loud enough for me. Anyways, would it be best to get some electric cutouts, or do the Ti bypass mod? I know the cut outs will be very loud, but how much louder will the car be with the bypass mod? Thanks!

The question you have to ask yourself is, do I want it loud sometimes or all the time? The cutouts, you have the option to open and close them when you want, the bypass (which is a louder and beefier sound) will be a constant thing when you are driving.

I look forward to my LT install this Summer.

Did you notice an increase in the sound at all with the stock Ti catbacks after installing the headers? I getting ready to install headers myself here in a week or two.

They are definitely louder at WOT, but not much at idle with the stock catback. The car really sounds great now. Also, any idea how much it would costs in general for someone to weld the pieces for the bypass mod? Thanks!

Congrats on the header install! How would you rate the product and the install? I'm on the fence on the catted system..Appreciate your first hand experience.

Oh, it's definitely louder. Yet reasonable at idle and no drone at all on the freeway. Hard to beat for a cat-back that you already have, that flows well, and is soo light. Here are a couple video of my car with long tubes, X-pipe, and the stock Ti cat-back.

Here is another example of how other people suffer because I am cheap

I wish I had a video camera so I could have done a before and after comparison with stock and then modified Ti exhaust. Stock is just bone quiet at idle and gets better under power. Modified has a nice burble to it which is noticably louder at idle and then ramps up considerably under power. (I get to hear that all the time as my wife leaves the house)

I can't wait to put headers and cats in front of the modified Ti, now if only I could win the lottery

The headers sound really good, and the product looked great! You can not beat these for the money, and everything lined up pretty good. I ended up using the rear 02 sensors as the front, and just put screwed an oil drain plug in for the rear 02 sensor. I did not have to jack up the motor/bellhousing/ etc. Did not have to remove any valve covers either. Another thing, I am just an average 19 year old with just some at-home garage experience with a 3-drawer Craftsman tool box. All in all, everything went well, and it sounds great, just not loud enough for me at the moment. Feel free for to ask any questions! And thanks for the videos on the modded Ti!

Unless I read that wrong, I don't think that's going to work. You should use the front O2 sensors and buy harness extentions if they didn't come with your headers. If you simply plugged in what was your rears, and are not using your fronts, then the ECM is not getting the O2 data it needs. Only the rears can be eliminated.

^ Maybe I did it wrong? I just remember speaking on the phone with the Vendor I bought them from and he told me he did this. So I am not sure... Also, the reason I did not use the front 02 sensors for the front is because I was told to buy the square extensions, when actually the front 02 sensors had the flat type connection, so I was stuck with what I had.
