This was posted on the forum a while back as to how to tell the age of a TPM sensor:
On the backside of the sensor you should see a little clock molded in. The pointer on the clock points to the month. i.e., 8 = August. On the left and right side of the pointer you should see a number, that is the year.
If they are more than say 6 -7 years old, then I would probably just replace them with new ones instead of trying to change the battery.
If the things still work why buy new ones at around $400 when you can just have the batteries replaced for around $100? I just had my batteries replaced and had them back a week after I sent them in. There's also a thread on here on how to change them yourself. Why buy new?
