Default Bridgestone / Firestone Tires

Ok God only knows how many tire threads we have had in here but I haven’t see too many people that run Bridgestone tires or Firestone for that matter of fact. I know some one has to run them. I’m fixing to buy new rubber for the Coupe and I’m just looking at all the options. I’ve had Good Year Eagle F1’s. Falken, Michelin PS 2’s, Who has run them and what do you think?

My cousin ran Firestone runflat type tires on his 99 couple and said he was happy with them all the way around.

i have seen tons of people on here with the firestone wide ovals. if you want an all season runflat, thats pretty much the way to go.

I like my Wide Ovals a lot, BUT they are SUMMER tires and quickly lose thier "stick" when cold. If you are needing "All Season" tires, then go elsewhere, but if you are using her in warm(er) weather, I highly recommend the WO's.

I'm going to go against the grain and say no to the Wide Ovals. I had them on my last C5 Vette and couldn't stand them. Too hard of a tire, and straight line traction sucked. They cornered ok and had good steering response though.

I'm going to be getting something else for the C5 ZO6 I now drive. Probably going with Toyo R888's.

I ran the Firestone Firehawk runflats on my '00 and absolutely loved them. So much better in all respects than the Goodyears. I would definitely buy another set when I need them for my current car.

Wide Ovals on my 95. Great tire, good price. They are not run flats and they are for warm weather only.

I a running my second set of Bridgestone RE 050A's, LOVE THEM. I have had two set of the Goodyear GS D3's. I like the Bridgestones better. Great traction dry, also great in the rain. Better turn-in then the Goodyears. Seem to have a stiffer sidewall.
I have 111,000 miles on my Vette. Been getting a little over 20,000 on the Bridgestones. Goodyears a littles less. I don't baby my tires.

I've been running the Bridgestone Potenza S-02's for a few years, and have been very happy with them. They are non-runflats.

Wide Ovals. I did cut a 1.79 60ft and consistant low 1.8's with them in my stock car. They don't wear out too fast, and do fine in the rain. I never drive my car under 35*F outside, so I wouldn't know about cold temps. I'll use another car for that. Rain is one thing, but I don't want to risk the vette in cold weather.
