I just bought a 2002 z06 with CAI and BB Bullet exhaust. The car gives me an o2 sensor code regularly. If I clear the code it comes back within 15 minutes of driving it. The previous owner said it started doing that when the exhaust was installed and just dealt with it. I personally cannot stand the CE light on and would like a permanent fix for it. I do not know for sure if the problem is related to the BB so I am looking here to get knowledge from folks with experience. Is this common? I will get the actual code and post it later. Thanks for the help.
I also have an 02Z with B&B bullets. No codes here, its possible the previous owner damaged the cats or hollowed them out. Also check the flanges at the exh manifolds/headers, and the wires going to the O2 sensors for damage.

No headers. Thanks for the info. I will take a look at what you mentioned tonight.
I have been doing some reading and from what I can tell most people with the same issue have a stuck air check valve. It should only take some carb cleaner to get it back on track. I'll report my findings.
Meaningless code. It affects nothing. I've been clearing mine for so many years now I can do it in my sleep. Takes me 5 seconds, I do it between shifts Only ever comes on shortly after exiting the freeway for me. Cleared it twice today already.
I've read some people clean the valve by spraying stuff in there. Personally I'd just as soon delete the ability of the system to throw the code and remove the whole BS system. That has been done by others. I won't be doing that until I mod the motor though (soon).
