Rear View Mirror
My rear view mirror on my 99 C-5 has a map reader light out on the right side. It is the light you can turn off and on. Does the lens pop out? I assume it is a bulb that needs replaced. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do about it?
Thanks for your information Dave

Yes the lense pops out, I believe the bulb is 44mm Festoon bulb or a 212-2...

just use a very small flat-head screwdriver and GENTLY pry the sides of the lens...you'd need to remove your mirror to make it easier by using a torx screwdriver....
I also have a 99 coupe, soon to replace lights with LED's (yes they are festoon bulbs)

OK... I'll play too. Red LEDs!
I converted an autodimming mirror into my 99 though so those aren't festoons but LED arrays...

Anyone know what the standard bulb GM part number is, or the bulb trade number?
Thank you.
PS - My dealer said he could not find a listing for this bulb - I have one burnt out.

It should be a 212-2 bulb
