So I think its time to replace mine. I have the LG Street Headers with the LG high flow cats. Today I got it out and was driving it home from work. I noticed that the car was getting very hot. The console was very hot to the touch. I got home and looked under the car and the cats were almost glowing. You could just see the heat pouring off them. Plus you could smell a burning smell. Now to decide put cats back on or leave them off?

Do you have an Elite Engineering Tunnel Plate? I have Kook's LTs w/ Stingers and my console doesn't really heat up. As for the burning smell, that would definitely worry me. Good luck :-)

I do not have the tunnel plate. The burning isn't so much burning as it is exhaust smell that is really hot. Its kinda hard to explain. I just think its the cats and they are clogged perhaps.

This brings up a good question as to the service life of a particular brand of high-flow cat...
How long have you been running your current set-up?
I'd vote to replace them.. if you go cat-less you will get the wonderful stink that goes along with such a decision.
