Default never a regret......

Last night it was almost 80 here in Chicago (pretty damn nice for April) so after work I went out for a cruise before heading to a friends house with the top off my coupe. I don't know if it is all the custom interior stuff I have done (leather wrapped a-pillars, piano black half wrap console, aftermarket radio, brushed aluminum vent trim etc....) but the looks I got were great. Every stop light the car next to me on either side would look over and gaze. Then at a stop sign a group of people were getting into a car and one guy goes "that is a nice *** car man, seriously" I said thanks and cruised away.

There's something to me about the look of the C5, does not get old. Last night was yet again a reminder of why I love owning a Corvette, and never regret my decision in buying it. Just thought I'd share.

Great post. Moments like those make C5 ownership especially fun. I just walked out to the garage to have a look at mine and ended up waxing it!

I like the car so much,,wouldn't really care what others thought,,,BUT it IS cool when OTHERS validate owning one!!!I just LOVE driving it,,whether its a low 13 second pass down the strip or just putting around town!! I take it everywhere that I don't need my truck!!

Agreed!! I had mine out last night and took it down to Chicago and every single stop light I had everyone staring at me and just looking at it in amazement! From the Gold Coast to bucktown area. Everyone was looking. Except I was on 290 last night and the car infront of me hit a stick in the road and it flew up and hit my front bumper. Did scrape it a bit, but not enough that it will need a full paint job, just a little touch up. But my girlfriend did hear it for the rest of the night how upset I was about it. haha

It is a great feeling driving these cars though!!

I'd have to agree, the C5 has killer looks and great performance right off the showroom floor. Add a few custom mods and it just enhances the ownership experience.

I have a friend that has a new c-6 z06. I like his car but honest to God, I like the looks of my torch red c-5 coupe better! I'd like to have his drivetrain in my car but I still prefer the old c-5!
He used to have a "97" coupe and he told me he actually prefered the c-5 looks. He is, however, hooked on the "power".

Took mine out yesterday, waxed up, top down, new interior and B & B exhaust was alive and makin some noise. At a stoplight about 5 teenies were coming out of the sides of their CJ5 hootin and hollering about the Vette. I waved and gunned it for them.
