intake duct/coupler question!
But I agree with the above. They do look a lot better.
How did you determine the accordion coupler was "killing my air flow"?The after market couplers look better, but you will never feel any noticeable improvement. They need to be trimmed to fit properly. They are semi rigid and may be difficult to get completely sealed w/o puckering, usually at the throttle body. Use a small mirror to insure that doesn't occur and cause erratic codes. Over tightening of the worm clamps can distort either the oem or an after market plastic air bridge.
The SLP "hump" coupler allows for some flexibility, but is only available in black.
The oem air bridge is more than capable of handling an otherwise stock LSx motor air requirements.
If you decide to change either out, expect an improvement in looks, but little in actual performance that you could appreciate w/o a dyno before and after. And it would be very minute at that.
FYI, the after market air bridges do not use the ears/grommets/TORX pegs for mounting. And because they are typically over sized, you will probably notice some impressions left in the hood insulator and/or interference with the front of your hood.
