Default Suspension Setups: Anyone Running This?

I'm looking at upgrading my bone stock suspension over the next year or so. Like many of you, I've been looking hard at the fantastic deals on some of our vendors. Is anyone out there running ZR-1 sways, C6Z shocks, and C6Z springs? Can you run C6 springs on a C5? The deals on those components are really good. Advice? Comments?

Thanks!

PS: I am thinking about lowering the car, too. Just FYI

Most C5 guys go with the C6 Z51 rather than the C6 Z06 so I would have to assume the ZR1 sway would be overkill and then some.

Maybe you should look in to coilovers. By the time you get all the things you listed you are probably getting close to the cost of coilovers which you could adjust to your liking over time.

If you're lowering, go with Bilstein Sport shocks, they have longer travel and somewhat created for lowered Vettes. C6 Z51 bars work for the C5 best unless you are going to get wider tires in the rear (so I've read). ZR1 bars you would need even wider tires. Wider tires means 12" or wider for both, so you'll want to tub or do flaired fenders.

For less than $600, you can buy the C6 Z51 bars w/bushings, metal endlinks and Bilstein Sport, lower it- and it will feel like a completely different car.

Until you're ready to track the car, I don't think it's worth $2k for coil overs.

Good advice. Thanks! What about the springs? Will C6 springs fit a C5?

You should ride in a coil over car before you say that.. it is so worth it and much more..even if you just drive around town. It really wakes the corvette up. You can get them for around $1800 shipped new...sometimes less.
