Default dont know what to do!help!

well i have been looking at c5z for the past 7 months when i sold my last car and have been saving up and its finally time. i have found one that meets 95% of my standards. It is a color that i want, it is in the year range that i was looking for, it has a little more miles than i was looking for but can live with. The car is very clean and the price is pretty good compared to the others around me. the only thing that worry's me is that when i asked the seller his reason for selling he responded personal reasons. I don't want a car that's been in an accident and i would like your guys opinion on what i should do before i drive 140 miles away
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
please help!

personal reasons could mean anything. Maybe he lost his job? Maybe a divorce? It might just be something embarrassing he doesn't want to tell a stranger. I've seen that car on Autotrader and you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer one. 140 miles isn't bad either. I went about 600 to get one.

If you take the vin to a chevy dealer they can print out all work done on a car at the dealership. That car looks as close to mint as you will find. He who hesitates is lost. Go for it.

It only has 12,000 miles and you can "live with that". In what world is a 6 year old car with 12,000 miles not considered a ridiculously low amount?

not to rain on the parade but isn't $29,500 pricey? are the commemorative editions worth more? when I was looking last fall, I saw lot's of 2002-2004 z06's for $25k (even down to $22k). I paid more because I had to have yellow and couldn't find any locally so ended up having carmax ship one from vegas to norcal...

The hood on the Comemerative edition is carbon fiber and the wheels are polished instead of chrome, and I believe special stitching on the seats, and exterior graphics.

I paid a little less than that for my 2002 Z06 with 2,685 miles on it last October.

I think you do pay a little premium for very low miles. Mine also had a few other goodies too, nothing too major though.

Car looks really nice. Haggle a little. Cash usually talks. I would say something between private party price and retail is a reasonable deal, especially if it meets all your criteria. You could take it to a local dealer to have it checked out. For a private party sale KBB says $25K for excellent condition, $24K for good, and $22K for fair. Suggested retail is $28K, and trade in is $22K It would appear the seller is a bit high on the range. As far as reason for selling goes, an upgrade to something newer is as common as any other reason. In that case the asking price is considerably better than the seller would get on a trade.

I would not worry to much run a car fax for ownership and accidents as for personal reasons for selling thats better than some big story about why there selling, thats were you find the lies and b.s.
I just picked up my machine silver 04 z for $23,900 with 18k on it and has $1500.00 aftermarket seats in it and came w/ the original seat with only 1500 miles of seat time on them. 26k to 27k would be a good price for a comm. edition IMO

The price is too high, even with the low milage. I would think 25 to 26K is more in line for the selling price. Having gone thru many of the on-line sales postings, the price quoted is about what the average seller wants, but if you go to the auto trader books, the price is too high. I would only pay the asking price if the Z06 is 100% of what you want, otherwise you will be putting in more $ to get it to what you really want.

@12k it's still a new car. Look it over the same way. Looks like he is the 3rd owner and put about 8k miles on it over 3 summers. Personal reasons could be anything. If it looks good and drives good and has new tires on it and no over-spray it looks like a good deal to me, but I'm prejudiced.
