Rev limiter question
Ok, my pure embarrassment prevents me from telling you how it happened, but I ended up over-rev'ing for a very short time and bounced off the limiter. 
It is a fairly low mile engine (19K). Harm or no harm? I don't know if the limiter prevents damage or just prevents it from blowing.

Unless you accidentally dumped it into a lower gear and over revved that way. Then the rev limiter offers no protection.
That can cause damage.

I was alone. I was entering the highway and "thought" I was going from 3 to OD, but was actually going from OD to N...under aggressive (not full) throttle. I had the music up and the stock exhaust is quiet and I VERY QUICKLY realized I was not gaining speed. It all happened fast but it seemed like a lifetime.
