Default Check Gauge Messages

Hi,

I have been getting lately the below messages:

Service ABS
Service Active Handling
Service Traction Sys

I usually reset them and they go away until the next drive I take the car for a ride. The car seems to drive fine. Also sometime I get those messages a minute after i start the car and sometime in 20min

I would like to know what am I dealing with, is that kind a warning to change the brakes or maybe a sensor is bad, etc. I want to have an idea what i am dealing with and if that something i can fix on my own or maybe reset something

ANy input on that is greatly appreciated

Thank you

But then I have the code B2723HC - PASS-Key Detection Circuit, is that coz i have the car turned on ignition without starting the engine

Did some googling and below what i found

28-TCS - Traction Control System
C1221 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal is 0
C1225 RF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1232 LF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted

So my problem is the Driver and passenger front wheel speed sensor. What do i do from here.

Here's a link to the list of all "diagnostic trouble codes":

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...+Trouble+Codes

You can export to PDF and save on your computer (click in the box on the right side of the page)

It sounds like you may have a bad battery, or at least that's where I would start looking. The 2282, 2283...are issues regarding the battery.

Bad batteries can cause lots of issues that seem unrelated.

Thanks for the list.....I will stop at Autozone and see if they can diagnose the battery.....

What about the below codes they could be coz of the battery or m I looking at 2 different issues

C1221 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal is 0
C1225 RF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1232 LF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted

Yes, reset the codes, no problem there.

If the condition causing them is still there or intermittently there, they will come back.

You have to read a bit about this system. There are many many posts here (and in the tech section) about codes and what ultimately caused them.

A bad battery can cause the AH/TC system to throw codes that are not being set due to bad components. Once you are confident the battery is good, a bad ground (you will find many posts on that also, start with this one

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...c-c1243-h.html

Then do a search for the poster you see in it (Bill Curlee) he has done a bunch of good posts on how/where to check/fix ground issues).

If the battery and grounds are good, the codes being thrown will point to which component needs to be replaced.

Good luck

Ok this is an update what i have so far. In the morning I cleared all the codes. Took it for a detail service and ofcourse while driving there hit a bump or something and got Service AH, ANS, TS. Ok few hours later went picked it up and went to AutoZone, checked the battery and its fine no issues with it.....
So I just got home and did the Daignose to see what codes I have and below are the only codes I have. The other codes I guess where old ones that never were cleared when I installed the new battery, tires, etc

What is the below code, why do I get it, is it because I have an auto starter, if thats the case thats fine right? Unless some one can chime in why i have the below code or i need to replace something.
40-BCM
B2723H C - PASS-Key Detection Circuit

So now to the below codes from 28-TCS. 28-TCS

C1221H - LF Wheel speed sensor input signal is 0
C1225H - RF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1232H - LF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted

It seems I need to replace something, wheel bearing, speed sensor, connecters. Do I need to take of the tires to get to the sensors, connectors.
Also it seems I have a different problem on the passenger front - C1225H or is that code occuring coz of C1221H & C1232H.

C1232H could it be coz of a short fuse where do I look fr fuses related to those error codes

Thank you all for your inputs so far

since your battery is good, I would spend some time cleaning the grounds. I don't have any links but another fine forum member will likey help you out with a link. once your grounds are clean, I think your codes will go away. if they don't you can be very certain you have some parts to replace. no need to replace them until you are certain they are the issue though. good luck with the fix

I'm not sure if u know...but those codes ending in "H" means history and they are older codes that you can disregard. If it has a "C" that's current and may be a problem. Good luck.

Oh yes I am aware of the H and C, I have one code with a C but I have a theory about it posted the earlier post and waiting if some one will agree or not.

The other 3 with H's I clear them and once I turn the car on and go for a ride I get them back. So I have a problem I just have to figure out what it is.

I checked the battery and its good and checked couple of the grounds and they are alright.....

I want to lift the car and check the connectors and might just go and change them...... for both sides and see what happens

I had the same problem but it only occurred when I turned the key quickly through on to start. If I turn the key on and wait a second before starting, the codes don't show any longer.

Not sure why, but as long as I wait a second or two, I never get the codes.

Ok an update on this for anyone having the same problem.....So far i didnt get the error messages.

What I did based on the codes it seemed the left front was causing the problems. So i jacked the car up and disconnected the harness. Blew air at both ends and connected it back. So far so good. I will keep my eye on it.

If this doesnt work I might go to the dealerhip and buy and buy a replacement for both sides. The install is simple.

Hope I dont get the error and what i did works for a while
