Emblem Removal....Paint Question?

Emblem Removal....Paint Question?
Will I see an outline of the emblem when I remove the nose and rear decklid emblem, I have an 01 and the paint is almost 10 years old, I'm worried about paint fad over the years, I know how to remove them properly, anyone do this, and what was your experiance?

Clay and polish and you should be fine. Just remember, you have two holes for alignment pins on the nose. Can't remove the front one, without filling those in and painting.

just pulled the rear deck emblem on my 01 last nite to re work my stripes,and it was really nasty looking under there,my car is MY and it was almost brown ,no clay bar or rubbing compond was getting this off,i had to sand with 2000 grit and polish with a buffer.came out good but it was more than i was expecting.

rear deck
I removed the rear deck emblem on mine. No problem at all, took all of 15 minutes. Used a hair dryer to loosen it up, fishing line to cut under the emblem, my fingers to rub off some residue, clay bar, cleaner wax, done. Paint is perfect, no sign at all it was ever there. Emblem comes off in one piece soI can put it back on anytime if the mood strikes me.
