Default selling advice

Hey guys,

I am planning on selling my 1999 nassau blue C5. What month is the best time of year to sell to get the best price? Where is the best place to sell: E-bay, Autotrader, Craigslist, forum? Would you just look at KBB to set the price?

Thanks!
Gabe

The sooner the better. Prices will never increase. Seasonal variations are a myth.

Post in all those places. Be prepared to take a bath, especially if it has mods.

Spring and summer is the best time to sell.

both kbb and nada seem to be way off in corvette pricing. best thing to do is look at "comps" - c5's for sale that are similar to yours, and price it accordingly. if you look at "that auction site's" completed listings for your model, you will probably see that there isn't a whole lot of cars being sold right now... good luck.

First you need to give an honest, detailed description of the car and its condition. Point out all the good points and also any bad items. List the mileage. Good photos are a necessity. Not just 2 or 3 exterior shots but detailed closeups of the wheels, engine compartment, interior, exterior, and any defects. They should be properly exposed, in focus, and show enough detail to be useful. Do not set the car in the sun and then photograph the side of the car that is in the shade.
When I have sold cars for people on Ebay I used about 45 photos of the car and a detailed 2 page description. Be honest. Remember, people have eyes and can see the problems even if you do not mention them.

This is sound advice. And list the car at the end of April.
