I've installed .050 thick FatMat in both my 2000 FRC and more recently my 2001 Z06.( I used the .050 thk material instead of the .080 thick FatMat to try and save on weight. The Z06 from the back of the seats to and including the rear trunk wells and inner rear quarter panels. In addition I added FatMat to the inner door skins and trunk lid. This added 12 pounds but it was certainly worth the effort, in my opinion. The cost was very reasonable as I purchased it from a private party sale ( 100 sq ft for $50).
The added bonus was some obvious heat reduction in the trunk while parked in direct sunlight.
Easy to install ,using a laminate roller tool.
I also use a DIY two (2) inch thick noise partition that has been modified to mount two (2) OEM Bose rear speakers . This was done because the stereo volume and clearity was diminished when the original noise partition was installed. Happily now the drone sound is all but gone and the music is back to OEM standards.
