Default Terrible question for a first post..sorry but..

I have to find out for sure. Can you tow a small trailer with a C5?There, I asked it. Im coming home from afghanistan in august and am seriously considering getting a c5. My problem is, I will need to tow my gsxr and or my 4wheeler. Dont know if I am gonna have to get a pickup too. I know the idea of putting a trailer on a vette is blasphemous, but I gotta ask.

DrawTite makes a nice hitch for C-5's that I use on my C-5.

And here are two of my favorite photos I found on the net...

Absolutely. We towed our teardrop of 1,000lbs just fine. We sold it and now we tow a small motorcycle cargo trailer on long trips. They tend to weigh about 150 lbs empty. If you choose to tow something, go for it and disregard the "garage queen" owners slinging insults and disapproval.

PS- thank you for your service, you are a HERO to us.

I think I'm gonna be SICK

Those photos are some more Jeff Foxworthy entries:
You might be a redneck if;

I will personally NEVER tow anything behind my C5. I have a truck but if I didn't, I go to a auto rental shop and rent one
Just me

Wow..who would've known. This makes getting a vette much more possible. I would def get a pick up later but, I want to pay cash outright and cant see getting two vics right away. Also, I must be able to go 4wheeling ASAP for weekends. Good news, thanks a lot.

LOL! yeah, Im thinking for the money I would spend on a decent trailer setup-1500 to 1700-I could just buy a little beater pickup. I cant wait to get back in the states..be nice to walk in tshirt and flip flops and hop in a nice ride.

another thanks for your service. Many military and ex-military on this site.

I think getting a beater pickup is the best option. Although there are some decent towing options shown above, for your use, you would probably end up taking the Vette rough places where gravel, etc. would end up showing more wear on the car than you might like. Not suggesting it be a garage queen, but your use might be the other extreme.

Stay safe.

As the others have stated, yes you can. Should you? Only if necessary

Thanks for your service.

Like others have said, you can tow a small trailer - just be mindful that the C5 was not designed to pull a lot of weight behind it.

I really appreciate the thanks. This is one of the most civilized forums I have ever been on. makes me want to be an official member even more( by getting that c5) Its funny, its gonna be a lot of the money i saved but I cant stop thinking about how awesome it would be to actually own one. I have had 4 gsxr's a 94 1100, a 03 Busa (stock except for yoshi exhaust) an 05 1k, then went down to a 07 600 which got stolen last year. Im def getting another gsxr and already have a 87 5.7 IROC which I really like. Maybe I wont go brandy new with the bike, get another 05 1k, that would make it ea$ier to get a vette. I have a question about the early zo6 but I will post that seperatley. Thanks again for the helpful ideas and suggestions. btw, Im with the 82d Abn in western afgh. Im a Forward observer. Things are going ok out here, at least in our neck of the woods. While Im on guard duty, its images of vettes I see...cant wait

I will be heading back there in about two weeks. I've been on vacation for a little over two weeks and have already put over 2100 miles on my 1st C5 that my wife picked up for me this past Christmas.
If you make it to FOB Salerno (Near Khost, Afghanistan) stop by the Computer Helpdesk Center (DOIM) and I will talk you into getting it. I have enjoyed my Vert every chance I can and have a sun-burned head to prove it.
My wife is catching on to me saying I forgot to get something from town and need to make a quick trip.
