Default Installing Headers, what do you...

do with the old exhaust manifolds and pipes? I've been saving all my old parts with the except for cat back exhaust and wheels. Now I've got this stuff plus, sway bars and shocks that are comming off. How much of this stuff can or is worth saving?

I'd probably keep the manifolds and cats and the pipe might come in handy if you ever put the car back to stock.

Kep it, you might want to put it back on when you sell the car. Then you can sell the mods separately.

Or put them on your new car assuming it would be another C5.

Not even worth keeping IMO. I never plan to sell mine, but if I do I would include the headers with it.

There is a guy on LS1 tech that buys cats or you might find someone local that will pay more. He is giving $80 for both cats.

I save all the old parts. The car is worth more and also an easier sale in stock condition. Lots of performance parts and potential buyers will think you beat on it.The aftermarket parts will bring about what I paid for them since I bought most of them used at the going rates.

What do guys that have headers installed at Carlisle do with the old parts? Ship'em back home? Trash them? Might be tough to cram all that stuff in the back of the car and take home.

sell the stuff on everyone's favorite auction site, and if you ever get rid of the car, re-buy said parts from everyone's favorite auction site, I really don't see how this is such a big deal??
