C5 Drivetrain
but has anyone else had MORE then 1 issue with
their throwout bearing, couplers etc? I had the dealer
Install a new centerforce stage II clutch, c5 z06 slave,
lg motorsport aluminum coupler, and a stock rubber coupler on
the other end of a complete new driveshaft and torque tube. The slave cyl blew a month later, and the clutch disc was also in pieces, so it cost me ANOTHER $1200 to replace everything
again this time with a stock clutch, coupler, and slave (kept the lg motorsport coupler.) All has been fine since then besides the clutch pedal getting stuck to the floor everytime i run hard through the gears, and i change the fluid once a month as it is. Yesterday when putting it in first i heard a noise sounded like metal dropping on metal, and i thought oh man the slave is gonna take a dump again! I drove it easy home and it sounded like somethin brushing the inside of the torque tube when you really listen hard, bad coupler? How often do these parts fail, I mean i don't drive hard often and take care of my things so I don't understand why these same parts keep breaking. Not to mention
T56's suck, my 2nd gear synco is shot after i just replaced this transmission with a "33k" mile one i picked up online for $850 plus $800 install. My car is only making 325 rwhp as well, and it sucks being 24 dishing out all this cash for things that shouldnt be failing so soon.
