All cars are going up. I traded my Acura to the previous owner of my Vert for $6000, when the dealer wanted to give me $4000 two years ago and 25,000 miles less. My Vert was a great deal in this market, but about $2000 more than they were 2 years ago when people were getting in trouble financially. I still think buying my C5Z in 2004 with 4400 miles for $35.5 was the best deal ever, everything lined up just right.
Definitely not a standard sale. I bought it from a stripper that neglected it. When I bought it I knew it needed a wiring harness, rear bumper and on rear quarter, had a fuel leak, needed tires. After I got that stuff done I found it had a broken valve spring so I replaced all of those. There were a couple other little things. So, I guess the real price after repairs is more like $13,500.

Sorry to say this, but long term neglect like that is going to add up to a lot more money than that. I could buy a salvage vehicle for $6500 and call it a good deal too, but at the end of the day I'm going to end up paying for it.

The prices are definitely rising on both c5z and c6zs here in Florida. Even up north they are stabilizing because the weather is finally getting nice. I saw a 03 Z06 for sale in a parking lot in Georgia last week with a price tag of 32k. It had less than 15k miles and it also had CCW wheels but thats still very high.
I am in your area.
A few months back purchased 550rwhp supercharged C5 Z06 with supporting mods. 22K miles and as close to perfect a car as I have ever seen.
Bought for less than the local dreamers ask for their 50K mile Z06 stockers around here.
Mine came from a forum member on here out of Boston. As it turns out is a hell of a guy and somebody I would consider a friend at this point.
Anyway long distance transaction certainly require much more due diligence and being leary of everything. When you find something that doesn't "feel right" or raises a red flag, just move on.
Do lots of homework and you can pickup a nice car much cheaper than our typical local prices.
Good Luck!
