Bought a new black pair off the motors section of the big auction site for $99+12 shipping they are factory overstock and have limited availability.Perfect in every way and took all of 10 minutes to swap out. I must be slowing down
I disassembled one of the old ones before I ordered and for the price it wasn't worth my effort to even bother to rebuild old floppy ears.
The write ups on how to remove and install on here are great. It took longer to read than the job actually took.Thank you to all who write how to instructions on the forum I am going after the gauge bezel rings next.Since I own have owned this car I replaced the engine ,trans ,rear ,a/c shocks and suspension components, wheels and a complete slight variation to mag red 2 three stage paint job.The only thing I did not do was the paint. When I finish a couple of accessories I designed I will post pics to show. These cars were created to mod.
Ive tried an tried to get these damn sunvisors out .Ive got the instructions of the web an even the tech at the dealership couldnt get them out .inserting small screw driver in slot an turn visor nothing works .Am i gonna have to tear some **** up to get them out .Any help appreciated!!!!!!!! DIDNT MEAN TO HIGH JACK YOUR TREND SORRY!!!!!!!!!!
corvettedaddy, keep working with the screwdriver (it needs to be a small one) and pivot the visor as you do it. You are trying to press a clip in so that when it clears the flange, the whole piece just drops out.
This is the only car I have ever driven that I don't ever use the sunvisors and I'm very sensitive to sun glare. I always keep keep the visors folded down against the windshield and never move them and I drive a lot with the targa off. Maybe it's the degree angle of the windshield. Anyone else find this to be the case?
Floppy ears are the sunvisor ends that flop around after the foam inside deteriorates and the perforated paper backing breaks off. There is a line of holes through the supporting paper that allows the end to bend when you push the visor into its parked position.
Corvette Daddy. Use a small narrow screw driver and make sure you don't let it bend with the movement it must stay straight to force pressure on the holder. The sun visor pressing on the screw driver is the leverage to make the bezel turn. It will release in 2 steps. The first is the worst feeling as it takes some force to get the initial release.I thought I would break it at first but it came out ok. Good luck.
