Just had my windshield replaced. The job was contracted by my insurance co., so I didn't have much choice in vendor...
Anyway, since one of the windshield applique was cracked, they decided to replace them both, and bill the ins. co. Problem is, I wasn't there when they did the job, and now something doesn't look right.
It looks like either they used aftermarket applique, or they forgot some trim, but I can't remember what it looked like prior. It looks like the metal trim edge sticking out isn't supposed to show, because it is only partially painted. If someone can take a snap of theirs it would really help. See pix:

Looks like the weatherstripping isn't pushed all the way into the channel.
I had my windshield replaced last year, insurance covered it. After a couple of days, I noticed a distortion in the glass, on the passenger side. I called the glass company, they sent the same tech out to inspect it, he quickly replaced it with another window. My point is, if you're not happy with the job, let them know. Most reputable business will want you to be a satisfied customer. If that doesn't work, contact the insurance company and pressure them to make it right. You shouldn't have to be unhappy with the job, just my opinion, it's worth a call...good luck!
Another lesson is that I don't believe you have to use the vendor contracted or contacted by the insurance company. I think you can use who you want. The only thing the insurance company controls is how much they will pay and most reputable installers honor the insurance price.

That's perfect. So is it safe to say that the part pointed out below is supposed to be just painted metal (no trim covering it)?
If so, I can easily tape it off and touch it up so it will never be noticed. If there's supposed to be trim to cover it, I want it.
I'm not overly impressed with this company anyway, so there's little chance I would have them come back to actually put any extra parts on or change anything. I'd rather do it myself at this point and do it right, unfortunately for them.
