I am attending carlisle for the first time this year. I am looking for advice on the following: (1) a good but close hotel; (2) good places to eat; (3) best place to park; (4) any other suggestions.
Also, is their autocross any good? I was thinking about doing this but it would require pulling my open trailer with race tire and wheels. Is there a safe place to leave such a trailer during the day and overnight.
Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated.

I have entered several threads about a great area to stay with alll your questions being settled..............Use the search engine to find threads using Limekiln Road....as a search.
180-200 P/N??? What a rip. That's what I paid in Vegas at the Wynn.
If that's the case try Harrisburg abt 20-25 miles away.
I always camped out on top of my space like many vendors. As far as food, they got all you can eat on premises.
As suggested, click SEARCH and enter Carlisle. You will find pages and pages. Bring good walking shoes & lotion. Least crowded on Fridays. If you go one day only skip Sunday cause you won't have time to see it all. Most people/vendors leave after the vette give-away drawing that afternoon. If you got a vette you can park in on premises.
It's a great event to experience no matter the weather so bring your camera.
We stay at the Red Roof Inn, North Harrsiburg. Cheaper, less congestion, only 20 minute drive to Carlisle.
Also, go to the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg.
Eat at the Appalachain Brew Club in Harrisburg. http://www.abcbrew.com/harrisburg/index.htm
We usually stay in Harrisburg at the Comfort Inn. The best bit of advice I have is to make sure you stay hydrated. I swear it's the hottest place on earth
PM for the back way in most nobody ever uses and knows of.....lot of new construction down there too going this summer so youll want to know..ill send you the directions!! I live here about 20 mins away....ALOT of new hotels....plenty of room at my house!! I go Fri n Sat
We go every year, this year we are staying at the Homewood Suites in Harrisburg (i think thats the name of the town) The guys i go with have a vendor spot in the swap meet area so we have a nice little area to pull our cooler out and hang out for 3 days.
Dont know about food usually drinking too much to think about it , they do have food availible in the fairgrounds.
IMPORTANT~~~~ Dont expect alot of aftermarket add-ons actually there as most vendors just bring small stuff or you can order it there w/o shipping etc....so you are gold if you like valve stem caps!! lol
Lot of vettes......and of course the women of Kerbecks is the single best part of the whole thing lol.....the rest is just a giant flea market of junk being sold lol....Fun for a day (FRIDAY) BUT after that its pretty much all the same.....
know what i did the first time and i went it was the best, i stayed at the redroof in ,nice place paid around 60 for the luxury room with wifi, about 15mins from carlisle and 15 from hershey, i usually go there too its a blast. and forgot to tell ya there is a cracker barrel on the other side of the highway sweet
