Need to clean my filter and was wondering what clamps to remove to get to the filter. Obviously, I will start by releasing the rubber catches but I doubt there's enough play to remove the filter without undoing some clamps. Which one(s) should I remove? The one between the MAF and the filter? The one between the MAF and the air bridge or the one between the air bridge and the engine?
Loosen the clamp on the throttle body. Undo the latches on the housing. Remove the entire top portion together as one unit. Clean filter and re-install. EASY!
I have a vararam with a K&N filter in my 02 that I bought last year. The fitting of the two vararam pieces with K&N don't seal tight. It has a foam ring that is supposed to fit to seal it and is needing replaced badly. I clean my very dirty filter often as it gets dirty quickly and kringe to think of the dirt that is slipping by into my engine. So, what type of filter and filter gasket should I use that will best keep my engine clean and perform well?

I siliconed my filter into the upper housing after finding sand and a blade of grass in the accordion bellows. Don't trust the sealing of their foam gasket.

The K&N will not fit the Vararam properly - was not made for it! You need to call us and get the proper filter!!!!
Thanks

Thanks guys for the great info...and Steve, I'll be giving you a call for getting a proper filter! I knew if there's ever a question about a vette, there's only one place to go. The advise and help everyone offers here turns most issues into small ones rather than bigger issues that can drive a person crazy, not to mention how much $$ saved to do it yourself and to learn about these awesome machines!
