I understand you have to scrap the power seat functions when you install the A4's. Did disconnecting the wiring harness to the seats throw any codes?
I'm in the same boat with several others here. Do I recover the worn stock sport seats in my 98 coupe ($800)? Or do I spend the extra coin to buy and install these seats ($1200). Also, how do these seats compare to say the ones in a new GTO (love those seats).

My codes that show up are from the SCM. All the sensors that pick up the seat position throw an error code. No warning lights so not a big deal
Interesting -
I *think* this is the first negative comment I've seen on the seats since I've started searching recently.
It is nice to have another opinion.
Are they a downgrade because they are hard to get in and out of?
Is it because of the larger bolsters?
Is it a downgrade because of the difficulty in reaching the retraction lever?
I am just trying to get an idea for myself as I am considering the A4's. I am not trying to be critical.
TIA.
Ok, this might be the second negative comment.....and of course my opinion, but I think those seats are totally ugly and do not belong in a Corvette! They might have great leather and are comfortable, but they look like a racing and/or dragster seat! They look extremely tall and if you don't have the racing harness seat belt what are the two holes by your head for?

Sorry, just my two cents.....
If the shoe fits, wear it! I'll take the function over the looks anyday. I don't have these seats, but the stockers just blow for any aggressive and racing use.

That's what I've been reading and I totally agree...."for racing use"! If you race your Vette they do sound like a great fit, but for the everyday or casual driver, not so!

I'm glad so many people are enjoying these seats. I personally can't sit in the A4 for long, let alone a day or even a short track event. It may be racy, but I prefer the LG1, which I have yet to see fit in a C5.
I understand your point of view, and I wish we had more options.
Finally ordered these from racingseatsusa.com, and all i can say is "Wow!"
Installation was a pain (it's like 105 degrees outside right now), but I took the car for an ice cream run afterwards. Fantastic! Like everyone has said - these are the seats that should have been in our cars to begin with. They grab your body like Lou Ferigno grabbing a cheap prostitute at comic con.
I ordered the microsuede, but the vendor told me the black suede was on back order. I upgraded to the black leather which looks amazing in the car. If you get these seats I strongly recommend spending the extra coin to get the leather ( I was $1275 all in with brackets). They are a tight fit so take your time on the install. And best of all no idiot lights are blinking at me. Cheers!

Cool, now go take a 4 hour drive somewhere and let us know how they feel after driving for a while. That's my only concern. I really want to get a set of these but they need to be comfortable enough to spend some time in them. Let us know when you get the opportunity.
Took a half day trip out of town yesterday. Keep in mind I'm 5'08" tall, 220 lbs, and a 34" waist. The seat bottom is nice and wide and the foam is comfy. The side bolster are just right at my waist. However, I'm a short, sawed-off little dude, broad in the chest and sholders. The bolsters are a little tight around the back of my rib cage, but nothing that I would consider uncomfortable.
I did not install any washers to raise the seat off of the brackets, and the seat height seems comparable to the lowest setting on the power stockers. No visibility problems whatsoever. Working the reclining handle was achore for the passenger with me. As I said in a previous post, the seats are a tight fit in the car. Taller folks may find difficulty in sliding the seat to it's most rearward position. Overall, I would have no problem whatsoever riding three or four hundred miles straight in these seats. Take a few curves a little agressively, and you'll find where your money went.
Glad to hear that, thanks. I was mainly concerned with the seat foam that you actually sit on as to whether that would be cushy enough to be comfortable for a 4 hour trip for example. Sounds like it is satisfactory to you. I sat in a Corbeau one piece seat last weekend and the bottom seat cushion left much to be desired. I would not want to do 1 hour in those.
