Default Corvette at College

Well I just finished up my 3rd year at college and it was a good one What made it so much better was having my Corvette over there with me for the last 3 weeks I am just like all of you guys on here (assuming) and am completely paranoid with my car, but I decided to bring it over and just enjoy it as much as I could and I surely did. I live 3 hours away from school directly on the other side of the state so it was quite the move for the vette. Anyways, My good friend at school runs a car show on campus every year so I had to have the car over there for that. On top of that I met 2 new good friends form the West side that are on here and C5 owners so cruising with them, drinking beer, and just hanging out was a blast. Anyways, my vette beasted the elements being parked outside for 3 weeks and being left in the student parking lots while I was at class. No one messed with it which I was worried about and it couldn't have gone better!

On top of simply cruising and rolling through campus after classes, here are the pictures I gathered of some stuff I did in the vette over the last weeks of classes.

First off I cruised campus with my friend Joel and we found a cool trailer that looked like a good photo opportunity

Then I cruised out to Evan's house (unsure of his CF name) and Jack's (cptinjak) where they helped me tighten up a few loose bolts, tossed an XSPower catback on Jack's car!

Then Jack, Evan, and myself cruised out in Grand Rapids to attend the weekly West Michigan Corvette hang-out at Culver's. Was nice meeting you all as well!

Then we had the Grand Valley Car Show!

Then we went back to Evan's for some beers and grilling!

Jack's expensive buffet table!

Also delivered Jack some exhaust!

Then we went out to US131 last Friday.... AMAZING track!
Got 5 passes in letting it cool down a lot between each pass to keep the clutch cool. Ended up getting rained out at 4:30 so we went back to Sean's house (SilveradoSS) to hang out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If5PXPI9THA

Once the rain started we decided to keep dry!

GOt pretty dirty after the 120 mph brake stops with hawk pads, driving in the rain, and simply needing a wash before hand anyway! Can't believe I'm posting these!!!! haha

Anddddd today I moved out! You would not believe what you can fit into a Corvette Hard to see since it's piled in there so well but the basics of what's in there is....
37" LG TV, 5.1 surround sound, golf clubs, helmet, alllll of my clothes, laundry basket, 2 duffle bags of misc. crap, electronics, wiring, bathroom supplies, etc. 2 pillows, comforter, 5 pair of shoes and so you don't get the wrong idea they are different necessary types, lol (golf shoes, basketball shoes, sandals, regular shoes, and dress shoes). Anyways, as if my car wasn't slammed enough.... now it was tucking tire, . Also in the last couple pics, notice the pavement..... Can tell which apartment the car guys hang out

I am home now, gave it one hell of a wash, polished the exhaust tips, and the fun continues for the summer!!!!

Great pics and damn sexy car! I just got my vette after finishing up college a little over a year ago. I would've loved to have had it while I was there though. Congrats!

Thanks, 12.3 @ 116.8

There is a video of a slightly slower 12.3 pass up in this thread under the 131 section. It's kind of hiding since it's just a youtube link

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Now it's time to take a break from the books for a few months and enjoy the vette, racing, and the golf game!

I'd be too freaked out to drive a Vette to college, but it would have been fun.

You can definitely fit a lot of stuff in a Vette

Nice pictures of the corvettes. I too had a corvette while in college, back in the early 1960s. A red 1956 4 speed, hard top and white convertible top. I was fortunate that I was able to find a garage for it off campus, just across the street from the University. Great peace of mind having a garage. Had a luggage rack on mine, so I packed a lot of stuff in the vette each summer. Of course when I graduated, my father brought his station wagon to haul most of the stuff that would not fit. Believe the corvette got me thru college and graduate school as my father said if my grades were not high, I would lose the corvette. I didn't lose the corvette. After graduating with a BS and MS in engineering and after my tour of duty (with a SWC), I went to post graduate school, and had two corvettes, one garaged at school and the other at my father's house, 400+ miles away. Guess I was fortunate to have a corvette or two in most of my college years and this year I am celebrating my 50th year in corvettes - what a ride. The college education enabled me to have a terrific career and afford the 3 red corvettes I now own in my retirement and the previous ones I owned while working.

I got mine a few months before I graduated college last year, luckily I had a guarded parking garage to put it in with the entire top levels to myself. It was awesome to have at school and cruise around campus with, a real head turner. I also used it when I had to move out, it looked just like yours packed with clothes and misc. ****. You can def fit a lot of stuff in there.
