Hey guys. I am pretty sure that my car and the parts on it(or everything as a package) are going to be for sale soon. I've already been putting it out there locally. Should I part it out or try to sell it as a whole? I've really just lost all interest in finishing the project or even owning the car. I need to move forward in my life and this is a major step. Let me know your opinions guys. I also have a bunch of audio stuff for sale listed in the audio/electronics forum. Thanks everyone.

I think what you need to do is write everything down that you can sell off the car, Price it out and figure in your time to put it back to stock and see if it is really worth it, A modded Vette will bring you a little extra, But not much.
Sorry you lost all interest in the car, It isn't often members lose interest in the C5.

I didn't ever expect to either. But things in my life have taken a drastic turn and the car is a constant reminder of something and someone I can't bare to be reminded of everyday.
I think under the circumstances that you describe I would just sell it as is. Spending a lot of time putting it back to stock will only continue to remind you of why your selling in the first place.

Good luck....I hope you get things sorted out

been there, done that - many moons ago...
the best advice i can give you is: take a breath. if possible take the car to a friend's garage for a day or so or somewhere you don't have to see it.
after a given time, a day or two (or however long it takes), if you still feel like selling it or putting it back to stock - go ahead. sometimes a little time to think things out will lead you to better decision making.

I was in a similar boat, or so I think, when I was engaged and ended up single. To make a story short, I solt my stang GT which I mooded and loved to death two years ago, and NOW I WANT MY CAR BACK lol. I spend an ungodly amont of money and personal sentiment into the car, and in the 5 years that I owned it it put 35K miles in to it, and part after part after part that I bet I just got what I put into the car when I sold it.
Ask youself this question? Will it matter to sell the Vette 5 years from now?

Sounds like there's a lot of emotion in what you are dealing with. If it's not financial than avoid making a decision until the situation settles down. To many times emotional decisions turn out to be wrong decisions.
Good luck with whatever direction you go.

good luck.
Step 1. Drive car into garage
Step 2. Disconnect the battery
Step 3. close door and go on vacation or at least, stay away from car for a year.
Step 4. Open garage a few years from now (When economy is better) and (whatever was in your head is either gone or dead)
Step 5. charge battery, start car and see how you feel !
If you don't feel any better, go back to step 1.
Hope everything gets better in your world. But . . . Every Corvette I have ever sold was a Corvette I DID NOT want to sell.
Making a big decision in the middle of an emotional crisis is not a good idea, whether it be selling your car, moving, quitting your job, whatever.
Sometimes when proiroties get shifted, things that were once important to us may not SEEM so important right now,but making big changes now isn't going to change what's causing the turmoil.
Remember, just like "nothing good lasts forever",well, "nothing BAD lasts forever" either,So give yourself some time to accept and adapt to the the big change that's going on in your life right now,and after that happens(and it'll take awhile),then decide what other changes,if any, you'd like to make.

with getting the car out of sight for a little while. Let things settle down, get your mind back in shape and then see if you still feel the same way about the car as you do now. If you do, then sell it and move on. If not, you haven't made a mistake and wish you still had the car.
I would not sell the car, You have such a nice car and just had all that work done to it. I know things are bad now but they will get better in the future. I agree with what someone said put the car away for a little wile and get a beater to drive to work and then come back to the car at a later time.
Good Luck!!!

It's a tough question - selling a modded car can be difficult. Finding a buyer that wants the mods you've done, and appreciates them and is willing to pay about fifty cents on the dollar for those mods is a challenge.
On the other hand - paying to have the car "de-modded" is expensive and time consuming, because you then have to sell those parts separately. Either way you are going to get far less than what they're worth.
Then there is the question about selling a car that at one time was such an object of desire, but because of some outside influence you want it out of your life. You can always buy another car....because at the end of the day it's just a car that can be replaced. They made almost a 1/4 million C5's and you can always buy another one. But you have to ask yourself - will this feeling that you can't continue to own the car pass and will you regret the decision?
There is no right or wrong answer - you have to do what makes you happier. I wish you luck in your decision and I hope that whatever is troubling you will pass soon.
