When I have her "ears back" I use this simple rule.....and it has NEVER let me down in 25 years: Don't be the lead car. Always have someone in front of you so that when they enter the envelope of radar, you pick up the signal.
Good Luck and have Fun

If so, yeah i bought one and I love it. It never comes loose and brings the unit closer to you. I have mine hard wired without a mute on the cord (old style cord) and it helps alot.
Thanks. I'm currently using the suction cups that come with the unit, Passport Solo 2. I was wondering if this super cup is too large to use in the vette. Right now I have my detector just to the right of the mirror before the passenger side sun shade.

I don't have one but looking at it I would guess you could mount it so the escort was right under the mirror and the suction cup would be behind the mirror
I checked Ebay and Craigs list and they range from $125 up until $200 and this is from Escort themselves and with a warranty plus free shipping. They are listed on their site.
I might go this way because at least l know it will work and not with the thought that it was stolen.
I have a V1 and I love it. Heard good things about the passport too. If you are going to ATL, 10-15 over will get you ran over. You better drive about 40 over, especially right near the city on the interstate

Those people drive like nuts over there.
Keep in mind in Georgia the posted speed limits are just the suggested speed limits!!!!!!!!!
Had a driving instructor for an autocross school who was a CHP...said that staying in the right lane gave you a little extra protection when driving in excess of the posted speed limit....he did not elaborate....
I have a passport sr1 and the wife's car has an srx. My brother has a valentine and they all seem to offer about the same amount of warning. The only thing I like better about his valentine is it tells you which way to look for the LEO. On the other hand, when I get caught, the LEO can't see that I have a radar.
Like others have said though, if you're the only one on the road (or first in line), the detector can't save you...
The detector is a support device not a 100% guarantee of not getting ticketed. Be smart, savy of road conditions, and always be thinking where LEO would be if you were he. Anything over 10 MPH is not a real threat to them.
I went with the Valentine 1. I have made a few trips from Portland OR to Sacramento CA. This unit saved my 3 - 4 times on each leg of the trips. It found John Law directly ahead of me, behind me, in over-the-horizon" hills and around curves. Didn't matter if it was OR State Troopers, CHP or the local police. This unit even alerted me on the freeway curves with construction site warning signs.
