But I've had it with buying from Ecklers. I just ordered two items, weight, less than 16oz. Cost to ship it slow, Standard Ground = $15.94. I could send it in a plain 8x12 envelope for $1.50. This "Corvette tax" has come to the end for me. I've had it !

What a lot of people don't realize is that shipping also includes handleing, They do have to pay employees. 12.90 shipping really now, It isn't that bad. Maybe you should drive and pick it up and save the 12.90
Heck I throw away a lot more than that on a daily basis.

If all you had to pay for was the postage, it would be great but you won't find many vendors that don't charge a handling charge along with the postage.
Eckler's isn't the only one... many vendors are doing this.
One of the forum vendors charges almost $10 for shipping on the door plug that goes behind the handle. It's about an ounce of weight for the item, and $10 shipping on it...

I bought mine at the local dealer for about 2.25 each. No shipping.
That's fine that you don't mind throwing money away, but "handling" of a tiny lightweight item shouldn't cost much of anything. If it's employee salaries, that should be included in the item price instead of pricing an item lower and jacking up the shipping. Just like ebay, you can buy something on there for $5, and then pay $80 for shipping. It's a marketing/sales ploy. Kind of deceptive if you ask me.

Reminds me of when looking for new wheels over on the auction site. Set of "brand X" wheels....$1400 includes free shipping. Same vendor would have same "brand X" wheels listed for $1200, plus $205 for shipping. ??? Thankfully some of the vendors I buy from our local, so they do "will call"....no shipping! Some are fair. Just got some touchup paint for the Mags, I think CC charged me like 5 bucks....no tax though!
Also, buy more than one item to save on shipping, I do that for my Harley stuff at JP cycle supply. If I were to buy one item a week, they add the handling charges to each order, but if I buy several items at once, handling fee's are reduced, as is shipping costs.
If your margin is made up on S&H your business would never have gotten the loan to be started.
They make their money on the sale of the items and the margin from cost to retail. The bonus made on shipping goes directly to the owners pocket for petty cash :-).

I just ordered a trunk lid liner a console cover and a t-shirt from the Corvette Forum store. Shipping on all of that was just over $11.00. Not bad considering that trunk lid liner is obviously big and can't be bent.
I'll always check the Forum store first.

There's no excuse for Ecklers and their 'handling' fees. I needed to buy 2 very small chrome pieces (headlight motor caps and shock cap, as I lost one of each)-
$50 for the parts- $12 shipping/ $21 for 2 day. I needed it, so was willing to pay the $21. When I went to check out, the total was $106!! 2 day changed to $37, plus tax now (I'm in Cali) and some other charge.
$106 for $50 worth of something no bigger than a pill bottle?
Went to the big auction site, $60 to my door w/ 2 day shipping. Sad, I'd rather support the Vette vendors, but not when they don't respect me.
