Hey Folks in the next couple weeks a new addition to my garage will be being built to accomodate the Z. During this time the Z will have to stay outside. I live in the Pacific Northwest- it does rain often. I want to consider purchasing a car cover. If you folks have any good recomendations on a good car cover I would find valuable.
I currently use an expensive Weathershield because I like to be able to put it in a home washing machine when it gets dirty. But the drawbacks are: It's very thin material (like nylon), it still makes condensation/dew under the cover on cold mornings and if you don't secure it with a cord through the loops on windy days, it can fly away. By the way, I use a combo string and bungee cord for the loops, if you're worried someone going to steal your cover, use a lock too.
I've used the Noah material (Wolf brand) on my other cars with good results and I think this is the best cover for it's price: great protection for rain (very little moisture haze), good for dust, door dings and just a good all-around cover. It's somewhat thinner than the heavier Evolution 4, but you will still have to use a big commercial washer or wash it in a bathtub like I do to clean it. For the Corvette, it may be small enough to spin dry in a home washing maching, but do not use the wash/rinse cycle or else it may start pulling fibers apart. Also, do not put these covers in a dryer or else you'll burn holes. Hope these tips help...

Thats good information. I would have hated to learn things the hard/dissatisfied way... There must be care instructions (like for the NOAH), ya kind of lost me on the 'wash/rinse' cycle part you wrote????
This spring season has been odd up here. Shi-t, we had two major hail storms like out of now where caused a few roll overs) and lots of passing rains. (just seems a bit unseasonal) The $$$ for the cover I feel will be wisely spent, I can use it to cover her up through the off season as well (indoors)

Warren, just thought that I would share with you that I went with the NOAH fabric (CoverCraft). I held off for a bit on posting anything until it got tested for a bit.
It is doing very well. I was very surprised by the texture of the fabic. Like a giant paper towel. But it is doing very well. Also, CoverCrafts workmanship in sewing it all togather is very nice. Mirror pockets and all. Got a cable and lock, storage bag and care instrictions. I got it off a major auction site, with free shipping and excellent communications in behalf of the seller.
Still, nothing but pouring rain in my neck of the woods, and the garage still pending approval for permit.
sitting out for just a couple weeks won't hurt it.. Cover could be more trouble than it's worth. Good luck with the new addition. Remember we like pictures.
