I'm looking to pick up a set of roller rockers. Durability is my main concern for occasional drag/road racing. I am staying N/A and have only a mild cam, Vararam, and B&B Bullets thus far. My only future expected mods are LG Pros and a FAST intake w/TB with a 450whp target.
I bought my '02 Z last October and it came with the cam. Specs are:
220/224 @ 0.050
0.53/0.534 w/1.7 rocker
I'm looking to bump up to a 1.8 rocker for 0.563/0.567 lift.
After a week or so of searching I like what I've seen in the Yella Terra Ultralight.
Please give me some feedback if you've used these (like/dislike/durability) or why another particular roller rocker might be better. I'd like to stick with aluminum for lower mass.
The previous owner didn't upgrade the valve train so I recently installed the newer Comp 918 springs w/titanium retainers, and chromoly pushrods.
You're not going to make your goal of 450 RWHP with that cam. Since you already upgraded your springs, you need to pick a cam that will not have too much lift, unless you don't mind re-doing the springs. 1.8 rockers are not going to do much for power, and if you want 450, you're going to need to upgrade your heads, too.(It's possible to get close with a big cam, great tune, and sympathetic dyno operator) The Comp trunnion upgrade seems to be a popular way to increase the reliability of your valvetrain. Decide what your driving/performance goals are first, and then worry about numbers. Of course, I didn't practice what I preach, but you know, hindsight....
I run Yella Terra Ultralites in the 1.8 configuration on my track car and they are extremely reliable. They make good extra power under the curve, but they don't increase the top end hp at all.
I'd say a waste of money for what you have. Hinson Motorsports will take your stockers and install new Comp Cams trunnions and send them back to you for $200. I did that and Im happy with them. Again, no power gains, but a nice piece of mind knowing there wont be needle bearings scattered throughout my engine.
Thanks for the info guys. When I bought the car I knew the cam had more lift than the '01 Z but didn't realize it was less than the stock '02+. My power target is really just an ultimate target. If the bolt-ons I mentioned make 420-430 instead, no big deal. I'm looking at rockers (and bought the Z) because I'm tired of tearing cars apart on a weekly basis trying to make them fast. So, I'd rather bump up to a 1.8 ratio than replace the cam. I also prefer having vaccum and a stable idle.

Did you need to change pushrod length? I just put in 7.4" chromoly rods with the springs/retainers, it would be nice to not have to change them...
Stock cam ,but I installed PAC 1518 (.650 lift) springs and titanium retainers anyway just to improve the reliability of my valve train on the track. Yeah, it's overkill but one less thing to worry about.

Mind telling me where you bought the rockers? I've done another week's worth of searching here and they still come out on top, I'm in.
