getting wires into the side mirrors

I think there are three nuts that secure the mirror to the door.
The harness runs through a fourth, larger hole.
The door panel will have to be removed to gain access to the nuts and harness.
Best of luck.

I don't know -
Seems pretty cool to me.
You will probably never see it until it is illuminated.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
so my plan is to add 2-3 LED modules like this

to the bottom of each mirror. hook it up to the approach lighting circuit, and it will help to bathe the whole area around my car with light when I unlock it, or when I turn the ignition off.
the Ford puddle lights have a limitation, they put light only on the outside of the car. so when you park and open the door, there's still a shadow where you are about to put your feet. the vette has that covered because I have the LED strips on the bottoms of the doors, adding this I think would really complete the package. since I have a manual switch to turn on some of those approach lights for added visibility (forward floods, vents...) I'll probably hook this up to an ignition inhibit circuit so they won't come on if the car is running. that way I don't have to worry about them coming on on the street.
not sure when I'm going to take this on yet. just gathering information. I would have to pass the wires into the mirrors, drill a small hole in the bottom of the mirror pod for each LED module...I think I would have to be able to remove the mirror and motor assembly in order to do that safely.
what do you think?

If you could find some pics of the inside of the mirrors (I think I remember a member posting some a while back, to replace his glass) you might be able to drill the access hole and fish the wiring through without having to remove the mirror... In all likelyhood the hardest part of removing the mirrors would be removing the Door panel anyway....

Are you kidding?
