What should I do?
I'd run it by "the Dad" for his opinion
The biggest thing with me is that I wanted to orginally build my Trans Am. I wanted to do a 355, ported Heads, cam, intake, etc. and make 420rwhp through the stalled auto and run a 150-200 shot on it at the strip. As much as I would like to spend this money and have a fast car now, I couldn't get jack out of my Trans Am if I decided I needed to sell it. Corvettes hold their value a lot better than Trans Am's so if a financial emergency ever were to happen I could just put the Corvette back to stock, sell it, and sell the parts separately.
The issue is that I barely make it to the strip NOW only working 43-45 hour weeks during the summer. Imagine when I'm out in the real world.. 43-45 hour weeks are bare minimum being fresh in the banking industry and trying to prove yourself.
As far as traveling, I do not really do much or it. Nor do I plan to. I am too much like my father: camping, boating, and driving are my escapes from stress/work/etc. Something as simple as sitting around a campfire with family just talking is therapeutic to me. I am going to end up buying a new Silverado or something of the sort after college (paying cash for it) as a reliable DD that will still allow me to tow some toys in the future (also have money set aside for a potential jet ski and the costs to maintain/insure, etc. those)
I just LOVE Corvettes. I remember when I used to think they were overrated... Then I actually drove one.
The ride on them is a completely different animal. They are gorgeous cars also. I just kind of want something that is a bit more livable than an f-body

If you remember, about three months ago the Corvette market was in the toilet. Your best bet is to find one modded the way you like it. Let the seller be the one losing out !
Some may say save your money, your TA is almost paid off etc... But if cars are your passion, then do what you love. As long as you are not hurting yourself or your loved ones by spending the money, then I don't see a problem.
People **** money away at the bar, on the golf course, video games and various other things that could be considered "stupid" or "wasteful" to some. But if spending money on a car that really makes you happy is within reach, then pull the trigger and go for it. You only live once, having a nice toy that puts a smile on your face every time you drive it, makes those days at work just a little bit more rewarding.

I hate this one dbag from my Calc class who is telling me he wants to race my car and that he'd smack that ***. Comparing a 600cc Gixxer to a Trans Am/C5 is completely different classes and worlds. I'd hope something that is ~900lbs is fast with a bit of power behind it. I enjoy my metal around me lol there are too many dumbasses on the road
I appreciate your enthusiasm and understand that you are focused on a Vette. All I can say is that time goes by quickly and it won't be long until you are in a better position to afford another car. I hope you enjoy your time in school, the "real" world will be here for a long time!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

graduate work in 3 years . While pursueing my degree I
bought a tired, junk vette and rebuilt it while driving a
old beetle to school. I rebuilt it in 3 months. It can be
done, it just takes desire.
I talked to my dad a little bit about my goals. I am selling the Trans Am here pretty soon (within a week or two), taking the cash, and saving as much as I can.
The summer before my senior year of college or after graduation, I am going to take the money I have saved and buy a nice used C6 Corvette likely and my dad will help chip in a couple thousand as a college graduation present.
Hard work well done! I have that much more motivation to kick *** in college! Thanks for all of your advice guys. I wish you all the best of luck! Happy modding
