Default Looking for brake recommendations

I need to swap my pads and rotors in my Z in a month or so and am looking for some recommendations.

For pads I am hoping to find something with more bite than stock, works well in the heat range of spirited street driving, has a life of at least 15k. Low dust would be nice but I prefer performance.

For rotors I would like something zinc coated to keep it looking good, made of quality NOT CHINESE steel, a good reputation for not warping or cracking. Slotted, drilled, or flat. Powerslot rotors look very nice but they are also quite expensive. I would like to find something cheaper.

Unless you're spending some decent money it's pretty hard to get some decent rotors.

I bought some from KNS Brakes. Give Ken a call.

HAWK HPS brake pads are what you want, stop better than ZO6 with much less dust. Hinson (a vendor here) sells them for a good price ($180 for 4 wheel set), here is a link to their post:

For rotors try brakeperformance.com

GOOD LUCK !

I've been super happy with my Centric solid rotors and HPS pads. The Centrics were under 50.00 each, USA made (NO Chinese steel) and the hats\vanes are coated to prevent rust. Slight dust, but just under spirited driving and then not too bad. The HPS's have about 12K on them and are still over 50%.

Take a look at our street compound. Has more bite than stock and 50% less dust.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

brakeperformance.com has decent rotors that I've been using but I'd advise to NOT get their pads, they are horrible.

Thanks, I got a few months before I get that far, but figured I would ask now, so that I can plan for the future.

I've got a set of EBC slotted rotors, Hwk HPS pads and some SS lines from DRM Motorsports waiting to go on my 02 coupe. The lines are Goodridge but they have AN fittings instead of banjo bolts, (better I think). My car had AC Delco drilled and slotted rotors when I bought it. I don't recommend them - I have a serious brake pulsation issue which is why I bought new rotors. I'll report when I get the new stuff installed.
