I've got a yellow '02 on order and the wait is making me  crazy. It should be built :) the week of the 18th (March). I live on the east coast of VA and have to pick the car up in Indy and I'm still undecided as to driving it back or trailering.
I hear ya! I'm actually getting my car today! In about 5 hours!! :D
I've been going crazy waiting for this thing. Can't sleep well, tremors, shakes, twitches, mood swings... j/k :D
But it has been agonizing. And I didn't get much sleep last night in anticipation. I bought the car the end of February out of state. It took 3 weeks for the auto transport company to get their act together and deliver the damned car to me! Finally, the wait will be over soon. I'll let you know if it was worth it... I'll be shocked if it wasn't. :)
This sounds sooooo familiar!! Mine will not be delivered until Mid-May!
The one good thing about the wait is it gives me time to purchase all my
new parts. I'm starting to have a stock pile of parts sitting in my office here
at work. I just keep telling myself "This is gonna be a GREAT summer!"
Hang in there. :D
I think there are quite a few of us out there waiting for our cars. Mine is being built the week of 3-25 and being that I live in Hawaii, I wont get it till end of April or early May. I have also thought of ordering some of the basic mods (CAGS, Chrome wheels, shifter and maybe some dress up items). I think it makes it worse reading this forum and hearing all you guys talking about how fun these cars are and wondering how long I will have to wait to experience it myself. :yesnod:
The waiting is the worst part .. the only good thing is that as soon as they hand you the keys, all the upheaval of waiting simply evaporates ... You're getting close now, brother.
Hey...You talk about waiting making you crazy? I have been waiting on mine since the later part of August of 2001! I was going to keep my '93 black vert until mine came in this fall but they went and put the cash in my hands. What could I do? This is my first new Vette and the wait is awful! I am so looking forward to whatching it being built and picking it up at the museum. I am hoping that I can make a few conections and get to the plant and whatch it being put together. I had the 40th and now am ready on having the 50th! Have fun and I will keep you updated on my delivery!
At least you have the money down on one.....
I am still waiting for my RICH uncle to adopt and spoil me with a Fiberglass beauty......
I felt the same way. I picked mine up about a month ago. and still only have about 8 miles on it. Yep..eight. I've waxed it, I pull it out to play with, it's perfect...
My club,(Downriver Corvette Club),meets only in season. My friends will see a Z-06 as they should.
The night I picked up my first C5,(it was the first one that most of them had seen),I allowed any of them that wanted,to test drive it. Our club has been established since 1966. We are friends. I want to point out that not all of them will test drive it. Maybe don't want the responsibility, maybe afraid. Maybe it will be driven by a member and another member's spouse. We are close. We are here for the car..for the Vette.
Oh..don't worry...I use a 63 f.i. coupe to help take the sting out of being **** about the Z.
:seeya
The day is close at hand :) !!! Got word today my MY Z06 was delivered to the dealer today. That's got to be record time, it was only reported ready to ship last Thrusday. I think Bob Benedix at Bill Estes Chevy must have some pull at the factory.
I've got a long haul to pick my beauty up - 12 hours each way :U but that's a small price to pay for a Z06, I'm going to trailer it home so I can break it RIGHT :blueangel:.
I'll check back in once I've put some mile on my yellow fever.
