The F-bodys will usually dyno a little higher due to less drivetrain loss, but the less and better balanced weight plus the aero of the C5 gets it done at the track.
Don't get me wrong, I love F-bodys and still own one, but don't sell the C5 short.

Well... I drove one....that I bought

It was amazing how much smoother the car is than my trans ams. it feels slower... but well. it's is actually a good deal quicker then they were stock.

speed sneaks up on me FAST i thought i'd punch it from 65-80 and get away from a semi that was going to pass me on the right and spray all kinds of crap over me... well. i looked back. semi gone.. ****, it says 95. so speed is quite deceptive.

all of the gauges and buttons have a much more "finished" feel. I guess that's what an extra 10,000 got you in 2001.. the vet is much better than i expected it to be.

Thanks for all the good replies. can't wait to get off work and drive it some more

p.s. i bought a 2001 M6 with 60,000 miles.

I still have both of my F-Bodies, I will probably sell the STS turbo Automatic, or trade it for a TBSS or Silverado SS Then i'll keep the 6 speed.

Congratulations!

Yes, the Vettes have a longer wheel base and better suspension so when you start going fast you feel only a small fraction of what you felt in the F-Bodies. F-bodies are great and all and definitely great for the 1/4 mile, but the Vettes were designed for high speed travel. They're far more stable. You can cruise at over 140MPH and the car would still be stable... in theory.

Solid axle in the FBody lends itself to a better 1/4mi car, also the IRS in the vette is fragile. The seats in the WS6 I'm familiar with are better than a vette's. The fbody has more of a refined muscle car feel, and you can fit more than 2 people in one. Nothing wrong with those cars at all.

Congrats on the Vette

Yeah, the seats in the WS6 did feel better than my Z06 seats. But I didn't care about the back seats. If anything, they were totally worthless except when my ex and I used to mess around in the back.

My current girlfriend told me I should get rid of my Z06 seats and get something more comfortable. LOL

Looks like I'll be in the market for new seats soon.

Looking into the Corbeau A4's myself, but now you got me wondering if the TransAm seats would fit in a C5
