Default Additional body mods questions. . .

How many of you have added the side fender vent stainless steel screens ? And how do you go about fastening them to the vent ? I can feel a lip in the fender vent, but I don't know how to attach the screens to the vent lip edges ? Any help much appreciated

I've been reading all the posted threads from my search and it seems to 1. Do the install of the fender vent screens in warm weather.

2. Use the probond ahesive prep solution 3M 4298, I have the pencil tube of the stuff.

3. use 3M double faced tape & some adhesive and use nylon ties to be able to keep outward pressure on the screens for a few minutes while the adhesive to set up. So this is going to be a Saturday afternoon job where I can take my time to do it right. We'lll see how successful I am.

Don't you love these Corvettes ?

It's easy...

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-are-done.html

Clean the area around the lip with soap and water first, then wipe down with some rubbing alcohol, let dry a few minutes, then 3M double sided tape and some Gorilla Tape is all I needed. Plenty strong, didn't need the nylon spot ties.....

OK, But what did you use to pull the screens up against the double faced tape? Has any one used adhesive in combination with the double faced tape ? I just want to make sure they are on nice and tight and will stand up to washing the car over and over and resist the cold winters and weather ?
